2021 Red Ribbon Luncheon Fundraiser
October 29, 2021 @ 11:00AM — 1:00PM Central Time (US & Canada)
Annual charity luncheon to benefit SACADA's programs in prevention, intervention, and recovery support services for children and adults in Bexar and surrounding counties.
The San Antonio Council on Alcohol and Drug Awareness (SACADA) is honored to have Becky Savage as our keynote speaker for our 2021 Red Ribbon Luncheon to be held on Friday, October 29, at the Omni Hotel at the Colonnade. Becky has been on a mission to talk to students and adults about the hazards of opioid misuse - despite her unbelievable agony. For her, it is a personal issue - on June 14, 2015 she lost two sons to overdoses of alcohol and hydrocodone. She says her boys, Nick (19) and Jack (18) loved playing hockey and late-night hangouts.
The co-founder of the 525 Foundation (named for her sons team hockey numbers), she is very active in furthering overdose awareness and prevention strategies. She is involved with opioid task forces, state initiatives or prevention, and community take-back events. She continues her advocacy because she believes her story can make a bigger impact than mere lectures and statistics.
SACADA will also be honoring this year's Allan K. DuBois Community Champion Award recipient Sara E. Dysart for her more than two decades of promoting SACADA's work in prevention, intervention, and recovery support services for children and adults. Sara has served on our Board of Directors, Executive Board, and now serves as the Chair of SACADA's Advisory Board.
We hope you can join us this year for this special event to benefit SACADA's programs for our community.
